My professional career started by training and qualifying, in 1989, as a Registered General Nurse within the NHS. I initially worked in general medicine and then specialised in cardio-thoracic medicine. In 1992 I further specialised in sexual health, where I continue to work part-time.
My psychotherapy career started by successfully completing a "Certificate in Counselling Skills and Attitudes" (WPF Counselling) in 1995 followed by a "Diploma in Counselling Skills - Access" (WPF Counselling) in 1996. I trained for four years and qualified at WPF Therapy (London) in 2008, having successfully completed a "Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Studies/WPF Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling". After qualifying, I worked as an Honorary Psychodynamic Psychotherapist at WPF Therapy (London) until I started working in private practice. In 2016 I trained for a further four years and qualified in 2020 having successfully completed a “Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy". I am a Registered Member MBACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), The FPC (The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling) and I am also a Registered Member of COSRT (College of Sexual & Relationship Therapists) and abide by the COSRT Code of Ethics and Practice. |
